Life is change.
Living in Canada, we know this well—our coats change with the seasons, and so do our lives.
From a child’s first day at kindergarten to the leap into university, change is constant.
I’ve lived through many transitions: two marriages, a painful divorce from an abusive relationship, remarriage, and now widowhood. Each chapter required adjustment, acceptance, and courage.
But the hardest change?
Living alone as a senior.
Learning to cook for one. Facing silence where laughter once lived. Navigating grief while trying to rediscover myself.
Last week marked the anniversary of my second marriage. I braced for sadness.
But my business coach reminded me: It’s just a moment in time. I had a choice—stay in the sorrow or move forward.
I chose forward.
I listened to our song. For the first time, I heard the lyrics without tears. I smiled. I felt a shift—a renewal. A belief that I can do this.
💼 Many people today are facing change too—especially in their careers. Layoffs are tough.
Yet, people have always searched for something better.
The difference now? You have time. You have choice.
So ask yourself: What do you want next in your career?
Are you worth investing in yourself?
The hardest step is making the call. But it’s also the most powerful.
