Last year, I was chosen as one of fifteen career coaches and Career Development Practitioners (CDP) across Canada to be interviewed individually during the spring of 2023. In the Fall of 2023, I was asked to participate in a small group to identify CDP’s roles and what skills or competencies job seekers would be required to meet different workplace scenarios in 2040. As a Career Coach, I believe very strongly that writing a resume for one position is only one part of an individual’s career journey. My purpose working with clients is to provide guidance and direction for their career growth and be aware of the challenges one faces from entering the workforce as a teenager, a university or college graduate, advancing their career in their thirties, forties, and fifties to reinventing themselves instead of retiring.  Career Development is an individual choice which also leads to improved mental health and work-life balance.
